Biographical Sketch
of
Rev.  Robert G. Twyman

Robert Twyman heard the voice of Jesus calling him into the ministry in 1964. He was licensed and ordained by the Greater New Mount Moriah Baptist Church of Detroit, Michigan.

After graduating from Cass Technical High School, Detroit, Michigan, Robert Twyman attended the University of Detroit, where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He also received a Master of Divinity degree from Morehouse School of Religion Interdenominational Theological Center, Atlanta, Georgia.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF
FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH FAIRFIELD
1906-2011

The First Baptist Church Fairfield was first known as the Macedonia Baptist Church. It was organized in 1906 at the home of Brother General Richardson located on the corner of what is now 62nd Street and Avenue D, Fairfield. The late Reverend J. P. Parker was the first Pastor. Serving as first deacons were Brothers: General Richardson, Curtis Hampton and Jim James. Under the leadership of Reverend Parker, a lot was purchased at the corner of 59th Street and Avenue D.
